Vince Gill, Country Singer, Confronts Westboro Baptist Church Protestors At Kansas City Concert [VIDEO]

Country singer Vince Gill was yet another victim of the Westboro Baptist Church, but he wasn't afraid to confront them, and that's exactly what he did when members from the hate group decided to protest his Missouri concert over the weekend. The country music star, apparently perturbed to find that his Sunday concert at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City was the focus of a demonstration by the notoriously anti-gay church, went outside to confront the group.

Westboro, which is renowned for protesting everything from Taylor Swift's face to military funerals, was taking a stance against Gill's 1998 divorce and subsequent remarriage in 2000 to singer/songwriter Amy Grant. "Vince Gill broke marriage covenant & took another man's wife," the church said in a tweet announcing they were picketing Gill's show at the Kauffman Center. "Hey, Vince Gill-@VGcom: God hates adultery and violence to marriage covenant. By whorish woman, destruction."

"Vince Gill, what in the world are you doing out here?" a WBC member can be heard asking, in a video of the confrontation uploaded to YouTube. "But, more importantly, what are you doing with another man's wife?" Gill then responded, "I came out to see what hatred really looked like in the face." The protester went on saying, "Don't you know that divorce plus remarriage equals adultery?"

"Don't you know that you f***ers are lucky that you don't have a sign that says something about my wife?" Gill asked. "You know what else [Jesus Christ] said? He said a lot of stuff about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that." Gill then called another picketer a "big dips**t" and later asked if they are the Phelpses or just "the C Team." That last comment was in reference to Westboro Baptist founder Fred Phelps, whose family makes up most of the small congregation of the church.

The confrontation appeared to end amicably enough and according to their Twitter page, Westboro has moved on to targeting Katy Perry's "Roar."
