A disgruntled Tesla Model S owner from Finland used 66 lbs of dynamite to blow up his car after being told repair damages would cost a whopping $22000.

Tuomas Katainen set his car up for an explosion at an abandoned quarry in Jaala, an ice-covered village in the Kymenlaakso region.

Katainen said the car’s instrument cluster began displaying multiple error codes and after almost a month-long inspection at a Tesla service center, he was informed that replacing the entire battery pack was the only solution to the issue but that would cost him $22,530 (20,000 Euros).

"When I bought that Tesla, the first 1,500 km were nice. It was an excellent car. Then the error codes hit. So I ordered the tow truck to take my car to the service station. For almost a month the car was at the dealer's workshop and I finally got a call that they cannot do anything for my car. The only option is to change the whole battery cell," Katainen says in the video.

To add to his sorrow, the company informed him that the warranty for his eight-year-old car had also expired.

"So, I told them I am coming to pick up my car. And now I am going to explode the whole car away because apparently there was no guarantee or anything," he says.

The unhappy owner wanted to let the world know of his disappointment with the EV giant's after-sale service. So he teamed up with Pommijatkat, a Youtube channel, to capture the entire episode on camera. The video was premiered on Sunday, Dec. 19.

"This time Pommijatkat's mission is to explode the 2013 Tesla Model S," he says in the video with his white Tesla in the background.

The video begins with a picturesque view of Finland’s vast snow-covered countryside expanses with a voiceover talking about life and its hardships.

"From time to time, things just go wrong, sh*t hits the fan. Then it's time for Finnish intransigence to step on the lead," it says before the big reveal.

A montage shows glimpses of the great effort that went into readying the Tesla for this epic blast.

Sticks of dynamite attached to a circuit of fuses can be seen mounted onto one side of the car.

A helicopter then flies in and drops an effigy of Tesla's CEO Elon Musk, complete with a helmet.

"Well, Elon Musk called us yesterday and said he really wants to take the ride with that Tesla," Pommijatkat's stuntman jokes.

The effigy is then strapped into the Tesla’s driver seat.

Katainen and the crew then go inside a bunker. Before pushing the button the crew asks him, "Any thoughts now?".

"Feels so good right now. Can't wait for the blast," he replies. And at the count of three, the car explodes.

"There's nothing left. Absolutely nothing," Katainen says into the camera.

"I never enjoyed this much with the Tesla! And also, maybe I am the first person in the world who has exploded a Tesla. So maybe, made some history."

The Youtube video has been watched more than 1,255,543 times, at the time of this writing.
