Dominican artist Nolberto, lead singer of the tropical group Alkalá was hurt on Sunday, Jan. 26 during a performance in Tucumán, Argentina. While interpreting their hit “Yo Por Tu Amor,” Nolberto walked over to the side of the stage and grabbed a metal tube that electrocuted him. He fell off the stage and appeared to be still, not moving for a while. Meanwhile, the show presenter took the stage and encouraged the audience to cheer for Nolberto and everyone quickly followed. Fans were clapping and yelling his name, and after a minute or so, the singer stood up and returned to the stage like a true champ.

Nolberto performed a merengue version of “Total Eclipse of The Heart” in Spanish, and continued to thank God because he “cushioned the fall” and didn’t let anything serious happen to him. He went on to say that wherever there is someone serving God and Jesus, the devil always sticks his head, and he was going to bless the stage so the following performers had smooth shows without any accidents. After his words, he continued to please his audience with some of his hits.

"I have never gone through something like that,” Nolberto told Argentinean local news after the show. “I was a little sweaty, so when I got closer to the metal bars holding the stage and grabbed one, it shocked me, and to not stay electrocuted all I did was throw myself off the stage." A true entertainer, Nolberto went by the saying “the show must go on.” Scroll down and check out the video of the scary accident. Thankfully Nolberto is alive and kicking!
