Autoblog reported bizarre footage of the one-of-one BMW M3 GT2 Jeff Koons Art Car being airlifted all the way to the top of Norway's Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). A 640-meter (2,112 feet) summit, BMW is quiet about what exactly the Art Car is doing way up there but it's safe to say that a car as epic and unique as the Art Car GT2 deserves a backdrop to match.
Cynically, a professional studio could have just as easily made a photoshoot with the M3 shot against a green screen, filling in the background with virtually any landmark BMW so pleases. That said, BMW deserves a lot of respect for working on this incredible, and very risky, operation.
The BMW M3 GT2 Jeff Koons Art Car's appearance in Norway is most likely related to a high-profile production of a promo video or photoshoot highlighting BMW's illustrious heritage in motorsports. Despite the limited info, keep your eyes out for more strange activity going on with BMW.
Happy hump day, everybody!
