We’re now onto Week 9 in the NFL and there are some huge games this week. With key division games and the trade deadline over, it’s a good week for teams to make a statement. It’s time for teams to put their best foot forward as they push for the playoffs.

Here’s what to watch for in Week 9 of the NFL:

  1. Can the Buccaneers Steer the Ship?

The Bucs have not looked up to the contender status they’ve had the past few seasons. There are a bunch of reasons for that like Tom Brady’s drop in performance, injuries, a new head coach, and a struggling offensive line. They happen to face the Rams, who have had their own struggles. In what will be a battle between disappointing teams, it does raise the opportunity for one of these two teams to get a big win. Game is on at 4:25pm on Sunday.

2. Will Geno and the Seahawks Keep Winning?

Geno Smith and the Seahawks have been one of, if not the best story in the NFL this season. They were counted out before the season ever began, and now they sit in first place in the NFC West. They will face off against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at 4:05pm ET, who are at the bottom of the division ad motivated to get a big win to right their season.

3. AFC East Matchups

The AFC East is competitive this year. The Jets, Dolphins, and Patriots have played good enough football that the Super Bowl contending Bills should be looking in their rearview mirror, even if just a little. The Bills will be matched up against the second-place Jets, who are going to need a big performance from QB Zach Wilson. The Dolphins will face off against the Bears. The Patriots will have a big game against the Colts.

4. Is PJ Walker Legit?

PJ Walker made big plays for the Panthers last week, including this 62-yard bomb for a crucial touchdown. The Panthers are sticking with Walker as the starting QB this week against the Bengals on Sunday at 1pm ET. The former XFL QB threw for 317 yards against the Falcons last week. The Panthers are one of the worst teams in the NFL, but maybe they’ve found something in Walker.

5. Titans Vs. Chiefs

The Chiefs have solidified their status as title contenders but the Titans could earn some more respect with a big win over them this week. The Titans sit comfortably in first place in their division but few if any, believe they have a legit shot at the super bowl. This is an opportunity for a statement game for Tennessee. As for the Chiefs, they’ll get a chance to implement Kadarius Toney into their offense, who they acquired from the Giants at the trade deadline. It's the marquee Sunday Night Football game.
