Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sang the Oscar award-winning song “Shallow” in their hit movie “A Star Is Born.” But contrary to popular belief, the track wasn’t exclusively written by Lady Gaga.

The “Poker Face” singer co-wrote “Shallow” with a group of songwriters, namely, Andrew Wyatt, Anthony Rossomando and Mark Ronson. Ronson also played a huge role in composing the other songs featured in the official soundtrack for “A Star Is Born.”

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ronson, who is one of Lady Gaga’s good friends in the industry, said that “Shallow” was written for the character of Ally. Lady Gaga played the role of Ally in “A Star Is Born.” “It felt like someone my soul,” Ronson said.

Following the release of “Shallow,” the song earned a slew of awards because it was embraced by fans. Earlier this year, it won an Academy Award for the Best Original Song. After the awarding ceremony, Lady Gaga opened up about the hit single.

“We love making music, we love making art,” she said. “I love being an actress and the truth is, when this Oscar was handed to me tonight, I looked right in the eyes of it and I saw a lot of pain. I saw all the things that I’ve been through and I also felt that camaraderie and the truth of the pain of the men standing next to me,” she added.

“Shallow” also won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media and the 2019 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

Cooper also played a role in writing some of the songs in the “A Star Is Born” album, just like Lady Gaga. The actor played the role of Jackson Maine in the film. The other songs in the soundtrack include “Black Eyes,” “La Vie En Rose,” “I’ll Wait For You,” “Maybe It’s Time,” “Out of Time,” “Alibi” and more.
