On the morning of Saturday January 31, Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in the bathtub in her home in Roswell, Georgia. According to the police, her husband Nick Gordon and a friend called 911 and Bobbi was taken to North Fulton hospital where she reportedly started breathing again. Police spokesperson, Lisa Holland said, “We tried to give her CPR until the ambulance came,” but in a later press conference, Holland said she couldn’t comment on Bobbi Kristina’s condition because of medical privacy laws.
It remains uncertain if the incident was a suicide attempt or just an accident since the third anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death, which also happened in a bathtub, is in less than two weeks, and Bobbi has been battling with depression ever since her mom passed. Although information is restricted, reports indicate Brown has been put in an induced comma with a respirator. Sources say “the machine is helping her” and the 21-year-old “has vitals.” It is common for choke or trauma victims to be induced into a comma for a few weeks to reduce risk of brain inflammation and damage.
The case is under investigation and Lisa Holland did mention that the police so far think it was a medical incident rather than something to do with alcohol or drug abuse, as they have not found any of either substance in the house. The police are interrogating Bobbi’s family and friends at the moment, and one of her cousins, Jerod Brown told Sky News: “She's pretty good right now, she's around family. We're just praying for a speedy recovery, that's it... I'm pretty sure she'll be getting out of there very soon.” However, reports indicate the family might have to start preparing for the worse, since doctors told the family the longer Bobbi stays in a coma, the more likely it will be that she will not regain consciousness.
