Prince William and Kate Middleton have done a wonderful job at keeping Prince Louis out of the spotlight. However, they didn’t do the same thing with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

After the royal couple’s first two children were born, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made the conscious effort to bring them along with them on their royal tours and public engagements. But after Prince Louis was born, royal fans only got to see him on a few occasions.

Prince Louis was photographed outside St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing hours after his birth. He was also photographed during his christening in July 2018. On Christmas Day, Kensington Palace released an adorable family portrait of the Cambridges that featured Prince Louis.

This week, the palace also released a series of photos of the toddler to commemorate his first birthday. It was revealed that the cute photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

According to US Weekly, there is a reason why Prince Louis seems to be getting less attention than his two older siblings. This is because Prince William and Kate still want to make sure that their children would grow up as privately as possible.

“William and Kate very much prioritize bringing up the children in as normal an environment as possible over anything else,” the source said. “They haven’t lost sight of that.”

Several years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were criticized for keeping a young Prince George out of the public’s sight. Royal commentator Vickie Arbiter told E! News at that time that royal fans should be given a glimpse of the young boy no matter how private his parents are.

“I know it seems daft, he is 21 months old,” Arbiter said. “You don’t want to take him to engagements and such just yet. But I think there is going to be a point where the British public are going to say, ‘Hang on a minute, why aren’t we seeing George?’” she added.

Arbiter warned that the public could grow disinterested in seeing the royal siblings and urged Prince William and Kate to give updates about their kids. And they did.
