Our dearest Romeo Santos sat down with Cosmo for Latinas for their August issue and got candid on a few subjects like women, his roots, being insecure in high school and his feelings about social media these days. Santos recently claimed the YouTube throne, proving that the king stays king. The bachata crooner made history on the video-sharing website, adding yet another achievement in his successful trajectory. While this (and posing with the Obamas) was amazing, the singer said he'd had other life goals for a while that he’s already fulfilled. “My first big check, I fulfilled my lifelong fantasy and bought my mom a house. I was so sure she was going to cry I brought tissues. But when we got there I broke down. We both cried for like four minutes,” he explained.

When talking about Santos being a women-charmer and ‘seductor’ he said he only uses that side to perform, and said he wasn’t the most confident kid in school: “I perform as if I were the guy I wanted to be in high school, when I felt too skinny and unattractive to talk to girls. I can do my thing and be the ‘seductor’ that women love, but I leave that persona on stage.”

But, the most surprising part of the interview was that, being the king of YouTube, Santos isn’t really into social media. “"I don't tweet very much. I still believe in the mystery of an artist,” he said. “A lot of artists are out there every day, but I remember Julio Iglesias, and José José — and they were about the music.” So, ladies, don’t think youre going to learn much about Romeo through his Twitter feed. Sorry!
