“The Eric Andre Show” is set to return after a hiatus on Oct. 25 but it appears preparations did not go smoothly. WWE superstar John Cena was among the special guest for the show, part of a segment that saw Andre ending up with a concussion.

It turns out that during a taping, Cena made a surprise appearance on the show. Andre was jostling with someone else before the 16-time WWE champion entered the scene and threw the 27-year-old comedian through a shelf.

After that scene, the two exchanged pleasantries that were part of the script. The only problem there is that Andre got hurt and had to go to the hospital after that. That scene can be viewed via the video clip below that was shown on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

It should be noted that Cena did not do anything wrong. He followed the script and it was the preparations for the scene that was to blame, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"That metal shelf came over and clocked me on the head and I got concussed," Andre said. "I went to the hospital immediately. I had like a Fred Flintstone, like Bugs Bunny [bump] on the side of my head."

In that taping, Andre was still bald. Kimmel kidded Andre that he was lucky to be bald at that time since the injury was seen. If he had his afro at the time, there is a chance that the bump in his head may have been hard to spot.

Aside from Cena, other guests for Season 5 of “The Eric Andre Show” include Judy Greer, Blake Griffin, Luis Guzman, Omarion, Adam Rippon, Dermot Mulroney, Tia Carrere, Robin Givens and Jai Rodriguez.

This would be the latest spotting of Cena since marrying his girlfriend of 18 months, Marry Shay Shariatzadeh. Both tied the knot in Tampa, Florida, with a small ceremony at the downtown office of attorney Dilip Patel recently.

As far as wrestling, there is no official word on when the Cenation leader will be back in the WWE. The last time he was there was during Wrestlemania 36. He was embroiled in a feud with Bray “The Fiend” Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match. Wyatt won over Cena.
