Robert Pattinson has got the girls going gaga over him ever since he shot to fame in “Twilight.” The 33-year-old actor has been around for quite some time now and has bowled fans over with his vivid choice of roles.

Actually, it was in “Harry Potter” where Pattinson was first recogized for his work. Didn’t know that at all? Well, there are still other lesser known facts about the Edward Cullen actor that’s interesting to learn. Here’s taking a look at some of them:

1. He hated his character in “Twilight.” Though the movie undeniably played a huge role in helping him build an extraordinary career in the movies, he hated it so much that he called Edward Cullen “the most ridiculous person” during a press tour years ago. One of the many reasons he loathed the character is the fact that Edward is a 108-year-old virgin, which only means that something is definitely wrong with him!

2. He once went all out on Stephanie Meyer, author of “Twilight,” calling her “mad” for envisioning herself as Bella Thorn. However, he later got over his hatred for the story and now remembers only good memories associated with the project.

3. He produced two songs for “Twilight” in the first part of the series: “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign.” When Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first “Twilight” film, heard him play songs for other cast members, she offered him to play his original music for the film too.

4. He started his career in music in his early twenties, but one of his teachers told him to stay away from it because he was “too shy.” As he got older, he was drawn toward acting more than music. His father helped him overcome his insecurities and pushed him to pursue a career in acting.

5. While his career was skyrocketting, he was offered a huge modeling opportunity with Burberry, but he turned it down. His reason? He didn’t want to make a brand out of himself but rather wanted to focus purely on acting. But a few years later, in 2013, he signed a modeling project with Dior.

6. He was once regarded as the “next Jude Law” as fans and critics were mighty impressed with his great work and good looks.

7. He was named “the most beautiful man in the world” in 2009.

8. He’s not romantic in real life. “I can’t think of a single romantic thing I’ve ever done,” he said admittingly.

9. He stands 6'1" tall and has double-jointed fingers.

10. An asteroid is named after him. A Russian astronomer named a celestial object he discovered “246789 Pattinson.”

11. A play about three women who are crazy about him, called “Totally Devoted,” premiered at one of the biggest artistic festivals in the world, the Edinburgh Film Festival, back in 2014.

12. There’s a documentary made on him, titled “ROBsessed” (Robert-Obsessed).

13. He uses his stardom for nobel causes. He is a regular philanthropist and never misses an opportunity to attend charity events associated with organizations. The Hope for Haiti telethon in 2010 is one of his notable charitable works.

14. After “Twilight” became a huge blockbuster hit all over the world, he completely shed his “heartthrob” image and chose to undergo a massive tranformation for other roles. He grew a beard and looked unrecognizable in “The Lost City Of Z,” which is one of his most popular works to date.

15. He shared screen space with Reese Witherspoon. When he was still filming for the “Twilight” series, he auditioned and got selected for another project, which was an adaptation of the novel “Water For Elephants.” He played Witherspoon’s lover in the movie.

16. He has been making it to the headlines now for a massive opportunityto play the role of Batman, for which he will reportedly be paid almost $5 million.
