Kanye West With Joel Osteen At Lakewood Church Instagram

Kanye West recently opened up about Jesus and his faith at televangelist Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Looking dapper in a black suit, Kanye took to the stage and spoke about his newfound faith for 20 minutes before a large crowd of 17,000 people.

Here are five heartwarming things Kanye shared during his speech:

1. God Gave Him Visions

The Gold Digger singer said that God was calling out to him for a long time. But, the devil had always been a distraction. However, when the rapper reached his lowest point, God gave him visions, and it played a significant part in his spiritual awakening.

While he was in the hospital after a breakdown, the rapper remembers drawing a church and also writing about starting his own church in the "middle of Calabasas." The singer said those visions inspired his gospel album and also led him to create his Sunday Service.

2. Fame And Money

According to DailyMail, when Osteen asked Kanye about worshipping only fame and money, the Grammy winner said that the devil himself stole all the excellent musicians. "It's like the devil stole all the good producers, all the good musicians, all the good artists, all the good designers, all the good business people.." Implying how many in the industry have been blinded by fame and fortune.

He went on to say that Jesus told him, "You gotta come over and work for me", which he is setting out to do since "Jesus has won the victory."

With a smile, the rapper further added, "Now, the greatest artist God ever created is now working for him."

3. His Childhood Connection

Kanye said that when he was a young boy, his father would take him to church three times a week, and his mom would take him to church every Sunday. Now that he has his own family, he wants to be more like his mother, who is now in heaven and like his father, who is in the Dominican Republic constructing a water purification center.

Kanye wants to be more responsible when it comes to his family. He also wants to impart all the knowledge and goodness to his kids that his parents did while he was young.

4. Jesus Is King

While speaking about his album and the song Closed on Sunday, the rapper said, "Closed on Sunday is the hardest record ever made because it's talking about protecting your kids from the indoctrination of the media."

During Kanye's speech, Kim was sitting in the front row with their little one, North West, and listening to him speak.

5. A Message To Younger Self

Osteen then asked Kanye if he had any advice to his younger self to which the rapper replied, "You know, it's nothing I can say to the younger Kanye through words. I could speak to the younger Kanye through music…We on the neck. This music coming every month. God is strengthening our hands. We have writers, producers, we're taking all the most fire producers and bringing them back to God."

After his speech, the rapper said a prayer before stepping offstage as applause filled the venue.
