There's a new royal in town! Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and the late Stefano Casiraghi, gave birth to a baby boy named Raphaël on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre in Monaco. Casiraghi, 27, and her boyfriend, French actor-comedian Gad Elmaleh, 42, released a statement confirming the birth of the baby, Charlotte's first and Gad's second, since he already has a 12-year-old named Noé, from his previous relationship with actress Anne Brochet.

In the statement, the couple added that "grandmothers are doing well," which people didn't get at first but then a Monaco palace source explained it was a joke from the new parents and that mother and baby are doing well too. "Everyone is very happy here. It is good news," a source told People Magazine. Baby Raphaël is the second Monegasque royal to be born this year. Last March, Charlotte's brother, Andrea and his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo gave birth to their son, Sacha.

Although many were concerned when the couple announced their relationship, mostly because the Frenchman is 15 years Charlotte's senior, they were a true love match. They were introduced by mutual friends and immediately hit it off. According to Hello! Gad recently spoke about his lady love and described her as "a smart and very intelligent girl who has a lot of humor." He added, "You can talk about philosophy and make stupid jokes with her. We go to see art or she will go crazy over a TV show and laugh out loud with me about a stupid gag."

He says that they have real conversations and "share things." "I'm the happiest man - really, I am. I am lucky to be with her." Although there are no plans to get married, the couple seems to enjoy a very low key relationship even though her status of royal and him being a known actor in France might point to the opposite direction. They seem to value their private life and although we respect that, we sure hope to see pics of baby Raphaël pretty soon!
