It hasn’t exactly been a memorable season for the Chicago Bears as they sit at the bottom of the NFC North.

Still, one Bears player isn’t letting this disappointing season define him or their team’s upcoming game against the New York Giants. Linebacker Pernell McPhee had a few choice words for Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

"We gonna tear their ass up. I don't care what everybody else did. We gonna sack him. He can throw the ball as many times as he wants -- we gonna sack him. I'm gonna make sure of that," McPhee said.

The Bears actually do have a pretty good sack unit in place this season ranking in No. 8 overall in that category, tied with the Arizona Cardinals. However it should be mentioned that McPhee has only played in three games this season for the Bears. In those three games McPhee has two sacks and three total tackles.

The Bears and Giants are two of the oldest franchises in the NFL, but they hardly represent one of the biggest rivalries in the league today. These latest comments could help add a little spark to the game on Sunday.

Despite the fact that the Giants don’t have an elite offensive line, they have ben protecting Manning much better than last season. Last year Manning was sacked 4.2 percent of the time whereas this year just 3.3 percent. Part of the reason for that is the fact that Manning is getting rid of the ball quicker, sometimes out of bounds.

If the Giants defeat the Bears, as they should, they will improve to 7-3, which would give them more wins than they had all of last season. They would need some help from the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Dallas Cowboys because Jason Garrett’s squad is standing atop the NFC East at 8-1.
