“Cobra Kai” season 5 is just weeks away and most are eager to see how the next installment will come out. All eyes will be on Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), someone who surprisingly turned the tables on John Kreese (Martin Kove) in the last season.

But there are a lot of characters to consider. Most know that Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) will be helping out Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for the coming season of “Cobra Kai,” a glimpse of which most have already seen when he crossed paths with Silver.

Aside from Chozen however, there is another familiar “Karate Kid” antagonist appearing. He is no other than Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan). He first appeared in “Karate Kid III,” best known as the star fighter of Silver in that installment.

For now, it remains unknown how Barnes will be inserted into the series. The easy guess is that Silver could reconnect with his former pupil to help him expand the Cobra Kai franchise.

However, it is also possible that Barnes could be linked to some of the existing characters. He could turn out to be the father of one of the “Cobra Kai” stars, particularly Tory Nichols (Peyton List).

There is also a chance that he could be the father of Miguel Diaz (Xolo Mariduena) although it is a bit hard to associate him with the youngster.

Aside from these scenarios, there are several other possibilities. But right now, LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) need all the help they can get. Barnes could even the playing field although it cannot be discounted that he would be going against Silver for some reason, Deadline reported.

Recall that Zabka had a forgettable parting of ways with Kreese. When he lost to LaRusso on “Karate Kid III,” the last most will remember is that he was pretty beside himself when he lost. It was never shown what Silver did after that huge loss so it may be a backstory that could be shown on “Cobra Kai” season 5.
