Paris Saint Germain is reportedly plotting a sensational move to bring Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to France, which would see him replace the assumed outgoing Kylian Mbappe and link up with rival Lionel Messi at the Parc des Princes.

Last summer, Ronaldo, 36, returned to Old Trafford after 12 years and has since notched 14 goals in 21 appearances. However, despite top-scoring for United this season, Ronaldo is being slammed for disrupting the Red Devils, which currently sits seventh in the Premier League ladder.

The Sun reported that the Portuguese megastar striker has begun holding crisis talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, about his future in England amid growing tensions between him and United interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

This could mean the 36-year-old is considering an early exit amid revelations Ronaldo is actually one of the worst pressers of the ball in Europe.

According to statistics, Ronaldo is bottom of the table with just 6.46 pressures per 90 minutes, still a huge gap from second-bottom Mbappe's 7.74 pressures per 90 minutes record.

Any move to the French capital would see him pair up with Messi, having never played in the French league before. The two have 12 Ballon d’Or trophies between them. They have spent years of rivalry representing Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It came amid reports PSG would need reinforcements up front this summer with wunderkind Kylian Mbappe setting his heart to join Real on a free transfer by the end of the season.

Reportedly, switching sides to the Spanish capital would see him hit the same bars Ronaldo achieved during his time at Los Blancos.

Mbappe's departure from the French giants sparked talks for Dortmund goal-machine Erling Haaland to potentially replace him in the Ligue 1 for the Parisiens, according to Marca.

Should that be the case, PSG would have to vie for the 21-year-old Norwegian's signature against Barcelona, United, and Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Poland international is reportedly "keen to move" from Germany as his fellow Bayern Munich talisman Robert Lewandowski becomes a familiar name in the mix.

United will face Aston Villa in the Premier League at the weekend. It comes as the league reportedly plans to introduce significant changes in the summer, including Rangnick accepting a consultancy role at Old Trafford following the expiry of his interim manager contract, the FourFourTwo Magazine noted.
