Despite the fact that his contract with Real Madrid runs through 2015, fans of soccer have begun to wonder what the future holds for one of the best talents in the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a 28-year-old international superstar, has been linked with a possible return to Old Trafford and Manchester United. Spending 6 seasons with Man U from 2003 to 2009, Ronaldo grew into one of the best forwards in the game, notching 84 goals in 196 appearances.
Departing the English Premier League squad for Real Madrid before the start of the 2009-2010 campaign, the Madeira, Portugal native continues to build on his great career. Taking the pitch in 199 matches, Ronaldo has already totaled 201 goals, solidifying himself as one of the sport's top playmakers.
Even though he's enjoyed his stay at Camp Nou, Ronaldo wasn't shy to admit recently that he does in fact miss playing football at Old Trafford.

"I miss English football," Ronaldo said according to the International Business Times. "For me, it was one of the best years in my career when I was there in Manchester United. Everyone knows that it is a club that is still in my heart and I really, really miss. But now, my life is in Spain. I am enjoying playing there too. I am really, really happy in the Spanish league."
Though recent reports have teased to the idea that Cristiano could return to Man U at the end of the 2015 season, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said earlier this week that his prized player would in fact retire at Camp Nou.
"The person who wants to retire at Real Madrid is Ronaldo, and Real want him to retire here too," Perez said to reporters. "There haven't been any negotiations on a new deal because he is on holiday. Be in no doubt, Cristiano will retire here because he wants to. Just as Zinedine Zidane and other great players have done."

In addition to his remarkable individual numbers, Ronaldo helped lead Real Madrid to the 2011-2012 La Liga title along with the 2011 Copa del Rey and 2012 Supercopa de Espana titles.
Man U fans would love his return because he was a key member of Old Trafford hoisting Premier League titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009 along with the 2007-2008 UEFA Champions League crown.
