The bar has certainly been raised during week four of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars: All-stars."
The remaining contestants were taking out of their comfort zones - having to perform dances chosen for them by their competition.
Former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul was a guest judge and her inclusion had the stars vying for a total of 40 points from the judges.
The judges marveled over Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd's Bollywood routine. Inaba said Aladdin has nothing on Marini. Marini and Murgatroyd became the first couple of the all-star season to get a 10s from a judge for a total score of 39.5.
As if they could not get any better, Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough delivered a near-perfect mambo. Her clean routine earned her a total score of 39.5.
Kelly Monaco and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy delivered a sexy contemporary routine that was noted to be one of the most difficult dances of the season. The couples earned 37.5 points from the judges.
Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani performed a jitterbug performance to Brian Setzer's "This Cat's On A Hot Tin Roof." Rycroft - or the "glitterbug" as she was coined - earned a total score of 37.
Former Mirror Ball Champ was clearly at ease dancing his rendition of the bolero with Cheryl Burke. The judges raved with Abdul calling Smith a "sexy beast." Smith and Burke received a total score of 36.
Sabrina Bryan was clad in a feathery blue outfit for the start of her disco routine with Louis Van Amstel. The judges liked the routine, but disagreed over some of the technicalities. The newly proclaimed disco diva managed to get 35.5 from the judges.
Technical difficulties did not cost Apolo Anton Ohno and partner Karina Smirnoff during their hip-hop routine. Smirnoff was in tears after she slipped during the performance, but that was not enough to land her in the bottom of the pack. Ohno and Smirnoff earned them 34.5, despite the unclean performance.
Bristol Palin has been getting better each week she stays on. She performed a rock 'n' roll routine and the judges were impressed with her progress since the start of the season. Her routine earned her 32 points from the judges.
Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy opened the night with their version of the Charleston. The judges seemed pleased with Alley's rendition of the dance, but there scores showed otherwise. Alley and Chmerkovskiy got 30 points combined from all four judges.
One couple will go home during the results show tonight on ABC. The show will broadcast at 8 p.m. because of the second presidential debate. Elimination is based on viewers' votes and judges' scores, combined and the celebrity with the lowest combined total will be voted off.
