After weeks of speculation, Danna Paola has officially signed with Telemundo to star in new telenovela. Telemundo

Danna Paola has officially signed a contract with Telemundo to star in their brand new production called "¿Quién es Quién?" The 20-year-old actress will be portraying Paloma, a young, single mother. This new telenovela is based on "Amores De Mercado" from Chile, that the same network had adapted years ago under the name "Amor Descarado" and starred José Angel Llamas, Ivonne Montero and Barbara Mori. The soap involves a set of male twins, one rich and one poor, that trade places when they find out they are identical. Neither of them knew of their existence and take the opportunity to live a different life. In this new adaptation, it is rumored that Eugenio Siller will play the twins and be paired up with the "Atrevete A Soñar" actress.

“I am honored to be part of the Telemundo family, and to have the chance to play the lead in a project of this magnitude,” Danna Paola said in a statement. “I know that viewers will love Quién es quién. They’ll get to see me play a unique character with lots of nuances, someone very different than the roles I’ve played before.” Danna started her career at a very young age starring in "María Belén." She went on to star in "Amy, La Niña De La Mochila Azúl" and "Vivan Los Niños." Her transition into more adult-themed telenovelas at Televisa was spotty after she was casted in "Hasta El Fin Del Mundo," but turned down the role. Paola's role in Telemundo will give her that opportunity to show her growth. “We are thrilled to welcome Danna Paola to the network,” said Joshua Mintz, Executive Vice President of Scripted Programming and General Manager of Telemundo Studios. “Her participation is another example of our continued commitment to offer the audience the best productions featuring top-caliber artists.”

After starring in the Mexican adaptation of the Broadway musical "Wicked," Danna Paola was rumored to be the lead of a "Picara Soñadora" remake. Most recently she was a front-runner to be "Simplemente María," but that never materialized. In recent weeks, it was said she had signed a deal with Mexico's Azteca, but with their telenovela production lessening, that turned out to be just gossip. Danna Paola is now entering a new phase in her career and this opportunity with Telemundo will allow her to make that transition. Do you think Danna's telenovela will be a flop or a hit?
