Former US President Donald Trump is gearing up for his Alabama rally, which will take place on Aug. 21.

His political organization, Save America, announced on Monday that the Cullman event will be a "major" one.

The last time he delivered a speech in the state was in September of 2017, reported New York Post. In 2016 and 2020 elections, Trump was victorious in Alabama by more than 25 percentage points. In 2019, he visited the state for a college football event.

The rally will happen on the same day the state Republican Party hosts its meeting. Their meeting is also taking place in Cullman. State GOP Chairman John Wahl issued a statement saying that they are thrilled about Trump visiting Alabama and holding a rally in conjunction with the party's annual Summer Meeting, reported AL.com.

He described the relationship between Trump and the people of Alabama as special, and he is excited to be part of welcoming the former President back to the state. He had been working with the Trump Team since February end to make the upcoming visit possible. He went on to say that Aug. 21 will be a memorable night for Alabama.

Prior to the announcement regarding the rally, State Auditor Jim Zeigler said that the former President has a special bond with Alabama, and noted that it's the place where his rallies began.

This summer, Trump was part of events in Ohio and Florida that marked his return to the rally circuit. He was reportedly planning to have a rally at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park in July, but it didn't work out as members of the commission that supervises the park were concerned about the legality of holding an event that could be seen as “partisan.”

Meanwhile, there have been speculations about Trump running for president in 2024. During an interview with Newsmax in June, Trump said that he will be making an announcement regarding it soon. But right now, he said that he is helping others get into office. He is hopeful about the Republicans' performance in the 2024 election. He thinks that people will be thrilled and very happy about it. According to him, the party needs some time to go by, and maybe watch what happens in 2022.
