The Philadelphia Eagles come to Lambeau Field in Green Bay on Sunday, November 10, where they'll face off against the Packers in Week 10 of NFL action. The game's an important one for both squads, as the 4-5 Eagles will try to pull even with the 5-4 Cowboys in the NFC East, while the 5-3 Packers are tied with the Bears and Lions for first place in the NFC North. Unfortunately for Green Bay faithful, the Pack will have to continue their bid for supremacy without All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers broke his collarbone on Monday night in a bitter Pack loss to their division rival Chicago Bears - a hefty loss for Green Bay, which lost a QB whose 108.0 rating this season ranks second in the NFL, behind only the supreme Peyton Manning. He's thrown for 185 TDs this year, compared to only 49 interceptions. The Eagles are contending with a hamstring injury to their own star (but injury-plagued) quarterback, Michael Vick, who won't be playing this Sunday, either. So the best player at the helm in Week 10 might actually be Nick Foles, who tied an NFL record last week against the Raiders with seven touchdown passes thrown. Seneca Wallace, who will be starting in Rodgers' place, will have the advantage of facing the worst defense in the league - the Eagles give up an average 419.3 yards per game.
The Packers may be able to count on the return of linebacker Clay Matthews, however. Matthews, who broke his thumb in Week 5 against the Lions, said he'll be pushing to be allowed in against the Eagles this week. "Obviously it's going to be coach's decision, but you know, I'd like to be out there. As to what extent, I don't know," Matthews told ESPNWisconsin.com. "I've just got to get used to playing a little more with one hand and obviously being comfortable with throwing it in there. I'm taking baby steps in coming back to practice [on Wednesday] and today, trying to get a few more reps, and become more comfortable throwing it in there when it's live action."
