Mylie Biggs, daughter of Rep. Andy Biggs and candidate to be a Republican state senator in Arizona, said she doesn't believe women should run for office.
Biggs, 25, made the claim before announcing her candidacy. It happened a year ago when speaking in a podcast, the Phoenix New Times detailed. Back then she said "honestly, I don't know if I would vote for any female."
"I don't know if females should be in office," Biggs said in the Matty McCurdy Program. She then reiterated her claim to make it clear that she wasn't kidding. "Yeah, I don't think women should hold office in general. That's my position. That's my stance. I think women should run the home."
The outlet noted that Biggs graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in political science. However, she has also claimed that "modern feminism" changed society, "starting with women's right to vote."
"I get home and I don't want to do anything else. Like, women aren't built for this. I just want to be a wife. I just want to be a mom," she said.
Other than her announcement, Biggs hasn't seemingly advanced her campaign, according to the outlet. She hasn't filed a finance report despite the deadline passing and hasn't raised any money yet.
