And the rumor does not fade out. As much as Emma Watson tried to quiet hearsay that she will star in the upcoming film adaption of the eroticbook series "Fifty Shades of Grey," the role of naïve college student Anastasia Steele just keeps bouncing back to her.
The hacker group Anonymous reported on Friday that Watson is indeed linked to the Focus Features production. They leaked documents from Constantin Film server, one of which says Emma Watson is attached to star in "Fifty Shades of Grey." Headlines all over the world claimed that the Harry Potter star was "confirmed" for the role.
Neither Emma nor her agent have confirmed the news. Similarly, Focus Features has said that the casting for the movie has not begun, and Constantin Film is not linked to the production of the adaptation.
But this uncertainty is not enough to stop fans of E.L James' bestseller. Bets are also placed for who will play the other big role in the story, that of billionaire sadist Christian Grey. Whereas there is no official confirmation, actor Ian Somerhalder may have given a sign he might be up to play the part.
"The Vampire Diaries" star went on Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live" on Wednesday, and when asked if he was taking the role, he gave a smirk and played coy.
"I can't say anything other than it's a very interesting story, and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun [come] rehearsal time."
Was that a hint or tease?
