Contrary to prior speculations that “The Flash” will wrap up after the eighth season has been quashed.

This was after reports came out that main star Grant Gustin is reportedly nearing a deal to return for at least one more season, a development that all but seals “The Flash” season 9.

This has yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros Television or The CW although it strongly hints that a ninth season of “The Flash” looms, Deadline reported.

Also, Gustin (who plays Barry Allen) will allegedly be given the option to return for multiple seasons. His new deal would be sizeable with Gustin’s salary said to be more than $200,000 per episode.

Further, Gustin’s contract will allegedly be for a maximum of fifteen episodes for the ninth season.

This should appease “The Flash” fans who were left in anxious moments following word that season 8 would be the final one for the Scarlett Speedster.

With original cast members such as Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) and Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells) exiting, “The Flash” fans took it as a bad sign of things to come.

However, both still ended up returning in select episodes of “The Flash” season 8, including the season finale.

Once the new deal with Gustin is in place, this means that “The Flash” will likely return by the fall of 2022. Ironically, this will be about the same time when “The Flash” movie will be shown.

Ezra Miller will be in the lead role of “The Flash” movie. For those who missed it, he did appear on the “Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover events.

Curiously, there is some speculating that Gustin could make an appearance in “The Flash” movie as well. This would make sense, assuming showrunners and producers have something in mind linking the series and the film of the Scarlett Speedster.
