And keeping saying thank you to the heavenly Gods of Westeros, because the Season 4 release date is sooner than we thought. The highly acclaimed and agressivley anticipated series will return to HBO for Season 4 on April 6, 2014. A new report from Entertainment Weekly revealed the Season 4 premiere date, after HBO finally confirmed it. We had heard multiple reports of a “Game of Thrones” Season 4 release date somewhere in “Spring of 2014,” but that’s too vague for us Stark bannerman and now we can finally mark the date on the calendar.

And while we know you are in “Game of Thrones” heaven dreaming of Daenerys and her dragons, Jon Snow and his hair, and even mourning the terrible lose of Robb Stark again, there is more exciting HBO released news! HBO is ready to release the first Season 4 trailer for “Game of Thrones,” which is shocking considering production and filming only wrapped on November 21. The full trailer which will be probably be an average length of 1:30 considering past trailers, will premiere on Sunday night, directly before the series premiere of HBO’s new crime drama “True Detective.” But according to a cryptic message from Entertainment Weekly, lucky fans may get a sneak peek even sooner than Sunday. As if you weren’t already bursting with joy, the trailer is described as the “first extended look at the new season and features new characters and episodic footage.”

In addition to the Season 4 premiere date for “Game of Thrones,” HBO confirmed that “Boardwalk Empire” will be coming to a close in 2014, after it’s fifth and final season. Series creator Terrence Winter stated, "After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we've decided to wrap the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion."
