One of the most favorite TV shows of all time is now in its 18th season. Unfortunately, "Grey's Anatomy" is on break due to the Thanksgiving celebration like many other shows. Season 18, Episode 7, is poised to return on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 9:00 pm ET.

Almost all networks avoid releasing new episodes during this time of holiday to make room for people who are off doing other things. Fans might find this not-so-good news and hard to accept, but "Grey's Anatomy" is always worth the wait. The upcoming episode titled "Today was a Fairytale" sounds magical, yet viewers feel that this will not be about princesses, unicorns and mythical figures.

Spoiler alert

In Episode 7, guest stars will be featured, Peter Gallagher as Dr. David Hamilton, Lynn Chen as Dr. Michelle Lin and Greg Tarzan Davis as Dr. Jordan Wright. The upcoming episode was written by Julie Wong and directed by Debbie Allen.

Dr. Hamilton crosses paths and takes his frustrations out on Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), so Nick (Scott Speedman) gives her a chance to blow off steam by scrubbing in on a surgery. Back in Seattle, Link (Chris Carmack) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) take their kids to a fairytale theater performance that goes wrong. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Dr. Lin attend a recruitment fair in hopes of attracting more doctors to Grey Sloan but find themselves ill-prepared.

Highlight

If you've been watching so far, you'll know that a few old, familiar faces are back. Also, Pompeo still returns in the titular role. "Grey's Anatomy" had to borrow the firefighters from Station 19 to build the emotional lift this season.

In "Grey's Anatomy" episode 6, Thanksgiving came early in Shondaland Seattle, “Every Day Is a Holiday (With You).” While some Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital doctors are busy slicing up turkeys, some are still in the operating room. “I cut on Thanksgiving, just not on turkey,” Richard (James Pickens Jr.) says.

In Minnesota, Nick (Scott Speedman) drove Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to the airport headed to Seattle. He was planning on going straight to his cabin for the holiday celebration, though he invited her along, Meredith refused. She wanted to get back to her kids. But when she is out of the car she gets an alert that her flight has been canceled due to unpleasantly cold weather.

Meredith checks into a hotel and then calls Nick to keep him awake and give him company on his two-hour drive up to his cabin. But a knock on the door was heard, and Nick was standing there to join her. Delighted to see him, the duo talked about surgery and priorities before they started kissing, which soon turned into a more intimate scene.

Meanwhile, in Seattle, Owen (Kevin McKidd), Teddy (Kim Raver), and Megan (Abigail Spencer) are celebrating Thanksgiving with Owen and Megan’s mom to spend the day with Farouk (Bardia Seiri) Megan’s son, while recovering from his recent pericarditis operation.

However, things were darker in Station 19, with firefighters still mourning the loss of Miller (Okieriete Onaodowan) due to gas line explosion in a neighborhood near the station. All in all, season 18 of "Grey's Anatomy" is making everyone experience different emotions. Now, the wait begins for the next episode.

Episode 7 of "Grey’s Anatomy" airs Thursday, Dec. 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
