A covidiot triggered panic in a New Jersey restaurant Wednesday after threatening to gun down every employee at the outlet, upon being asked to wear a mask before they could serve him. Jose Canales, 21, currently faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and terroristic threats.

Things began to spiral out of control at around 10.30 p.m. at Fatty’s restaurant in Morristown after manager Mauri Colin asked Canales to comply with the precautionary measures of COVID-19 and mask up. In response, Canales allegedly “became disrespectful” suggests police reports.

Soon after, Colin canceled his order and refunded Canales’ money. The visibly irate customer decided to blow a few punches at Canales, took out a small pocket knife, and flashed it at all the employees. At one point, Colin became uncontrollably violent and hurled an iPad from the counter to the staff.

The heated altercation left the manager’s hand bruised, while Canales got a cut on his forehead. Colin was soon left with no alternative but to chase Canales out of the eatery until the cops arrive. Canales is likely to have his mental health evaluated. Not much has been disclosed about his personal life or connections in the city.

In July, Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order that categorically emphasized the need for residents to wear masks in indoor and outdoor public spaces, to stop the spread of the virus. New Jersey has logged in over 5,370 more COVID cases and 68 fatalities.
