The series premieres today on FOXLife 10pm ET. Latin Times interviewed Dr. Christian Jessen about his involvement with the show and what are some of the topics we will be able to see on the series.

Latin Times: Can you please let me know what exact information will you be giving and what will be the format of the show?

Dr. Christian Jessen: Initially the show will run like a series of visits to see your doctor. You will see a patient that will come and see one of us since we are three doctors in this project two ladies and myself. It’s a very honest and open show. We call it Embarrassing Bodies and it’s not because of the diseases that are embarrassing but its people who are embarrassed to have these diseases. The message that we are trying to deliver is that being embarrassed is only making the problem worse. By overcoming your embarrassment you can face those issues. You will see people who are prepared to come on television and talk about their condition and by doing so helping people who are at home watching that may have the same problem. You will see patients who will come on and talk openly about their condition and us doctors will respond openly about how best to deal with it. Show people that there are many great treatments that will help you treat your condition and show a different side of medicine and help people to understand a little bit about how it works.

LT: So it's going to be a doctor and patient consultation sort of scenario?

CJ: Initially it will be like that yes and then you will see them through all their treatment. Whether it’s surgical or any other treatment that they will need. Amongst those cases you will see our doctors going on road trips throughout Europe and the U.K. We see patients all over the country. I think the viewers will be very entertained and at the same time shocked to talk about some very different conditions.

LT: If you can share with us some of the shameful diseases we will see on the show?

CJ: I want to say specifically for the series we have sexual problems, vaginal pain, urinary problems, incompetence, peyronie disease. We deal a lot with those types of problems including breast problems in which patients say they are too big or too small. Cosmetic issues like acne, birth marks and more. We try also try and cover things at are common to the doctors and can happen in every day living. Although you will see some serious things that will shock you. We talk a lot about sexual health which is popular among young people and they need to be educated about sexual health because it’s really important. It’s overall a very entertaining show, it’s funny but most importantly very educational. I invite all the readers to tune in tonight at 10pm ET and watch 'Acomplejados' on Fox Life.

LT: Will there be any testimonials after the treatments or surgical procedures are done to the patients?

CJ: Yes, absolutely you will see the patients during and after the procedure. We chose which one was the best outcome of a pertaining condition. We don’t edit anything to show a certain angle we want the raw patient outcome and thoughts on how they feel after being treated.
