How Prince Andrew Flirted With Topless Go-Go Girls In A Florida Bar

After following in the footsteps of his elder brother and father when he joined the Royal Navy, Prince Andrew caused a stir because of his own mischief. Once while he was still in the Navy, he shook the royal household after being spotted at a bar having the time of his life with some go-go girls.

At the time of the incident, Prince Andrew was known as one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. He drew a great deal of attention from girls because of his good looks and, sometimes, because of his rakish ways.

Dubbed as “the playboy prince,” Prince Andrew was popular for his tendency to be a magnet for girls. One of his most widely publicized acts was when he was spotted in a bar while he was on his shore leave from the Navy.

At that time, Prince Andrew shipped out to Florida to visit a bar and be entertained by girls. According to royal biographer Andrew Morton, the bar that Prince Andrew visited was famous for its collection of topless go-go girls. The Duke of York reportedly had a great time staring at the pretty topless girls around him while he was in that place.

In his book “Andrew: The Playboy Prince,” Morton described what happened during his bar visit. “In February 1980, Andrew flew out to Florida for a three-week tour of duty aboard the giant aircraft carrier HMS Hermes,” he wrote.

“The club was situated in a sleazy area of the dockland and had the reputation in the area of being the naughtiest nightspot in town. It was famous for two things, a collection of military souvenirs — and an equally impressive collection of topless go-go girls,” he added.

The club owner was reportedly shocked to see Prince Andrew inside his bar, but he was happy that he seemed to have a wonderful time looking at the girls. One of the dancers revealed that it was during Prince Andrew’s bar visit that she understood why he had earned the nickname Randy Andy during his youth.

“He couldn’t keep his eyes off,” said dancer Lindy Lynn. “Now I know where he gets his Randy Andy nickname,” she added.

While the bar owner and the dancers were amused by Prince Andrew’s presence, they knew that Queen Elizabeth would not be happy to learn about it. Shortly after his bar visit, photographs of the prince went public, and news about him flirting with go-go girls in the bar reached the Palace. It remains unknown what happened behind closed doors after Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth learned what did.
