It seems T-Mobile will be getting one of Apple's newest cellular iPad's according to multiple reports. Back in August, T-Mobile CEO John Legere hinted in an interview with AllThingsD that the carrier is looking forward to expanding its Apple product offerings beyond the iPhone. Legere teased saying T-Mobile would soon be carrying a "whole array of Apple products." Well yesterday Legere tweeted "What has two thumbs and is excited for October 22? #thisguy" further teasing that more Apple products will make their way to the uncarrier.
The cryptic tweet by the CEO may be his way of hinting that the next-generation cellular iPads may soon be available from T-Mobile stores preloaded with T-Mobile SIM cards and optimized for the uncarriers LTE bands. Although T-Mobile customers have always been able to pop a SIM card in a non carrier-locked tablet but being able to buy an Apple iPad with a T-Mobile SIM already installed seems a little more convenient. T-Mobile's competitors AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon all offer cellular-equipped iPads at their retail stores and Apple's various retail stores so it was only a matter of time for T-Mobile to get them too.
At the October 22 event Apple is expected to announce the fifth-generation iPad which takes design cues from the iPad mini and sheds a lot of weight. Along with the second-generation iPad mini which is rumored to finally update the display to Retina and come in the same color variety as the new iPhone 5s. Apple is also rumored to be announcing updated MacBook Pros and announce the official release date for the new Mac Pro.
Apple will unveiling all these products at their October 22 media event.
