Republican Rep. Jim Jordan stood by President Donald Trump's decision to attack the Iranian regime, saying it is "consistent" with what he "told the American people."
Speaking to CNBC's Squawk Box, Jordan assured that when "people step back and evaluate it, they say, 'This was the right decision.'"
"This was consistent with what the president told the American people when we the people elected him. He said he was going to do this. I think Americans are willing to accept it and support this because it makes good common sense," he added.

Most Republican lawmakers appear to stand by the president, particularly as he faces a War Powers Resolution seeking to limit his ability of continue operations in the Middle Eastern country.
However, other voices within the MAGA world have been sharply questioning him. Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene doubted his mental state, claiming that the fact he has said he doesn't think he's going to heaven may not lead him to make decisions with the common good in mind.
Speaking to commentator Megyn Kelly, Greene asked: "What's on his mind? What's his mental state? If he doesn't think he's going to heaven, and he's toward the end of his life, how does that pan out for the rest of us when we have a president of the United States who is convinced he's not going to heaven? What does that mean his decision making is?" Greene said.
She went on to address remarks from Trump claiming that the war will likely take four or five weeks, or perhaps more. "What is happening to the man I supported?
I think it's time for America to rip the band-aid off and have a serious conversation about what is happening to our country and who these decisions are being made for and who is making these decisions," she concluded. MAGA commentators Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson have also voiced their opposition.
Trump, however, slammed them and dismissed their claims. Speaking to The Inner Circle's Rachael Bade, Trump said "I think that MAGA is Trump, MAGA's not the other two."
"MAGA wants to see our country thrive and be safe. And MAGA loves what I'm doing, every aspect of it," Trump added, claiming that the war is a "detour that we have to take in order to keep our country safe and keep other countries safe."
He went on to take aim at Kelly specifically, saying she should "study her history book a little bit."
"Megan was opposed to me for years when I ran the first time and nothing stopped me," Trump stated. "And so, you know, some people are against — and they always come back. She came all the way back. But now I guess she maybe doesn't like the idea of this war, but I do because I have to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of the Iranians," Trump said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Trump took aim at Carlson, who according to a recent report visited the White House three times to lobby against the war. He then called the attacks "evil," but Trump dismissed them, saying Carlson "can say whatever he wants; it has no impact on me."
