After days of speculations, North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un has re-emerged again, this time at a party meeting.

Kim has warned the North Korean officials and asked them to prepare for coronavirus pandemic and the looming typhoon that may cause widespread devastation. So far, the country has not reported even a single COVID-19 case but if the pandemic hits the nation, it will affect in a massive way considering the levels of impoverishment that the country is already going through.

Typhoon Bavi, on the other hand, is expected to hit the North Korean coast later this week.

It has been reported that Kim expressed his concern over both the calamities during the meeting and also talked about "some shortcomings" in the state's efforts to keep out the "malignant virus." However, the details of the shortcomings that he talked about have not been reported.

North Korea has always claimed that there have been no cases of COVID-19 in the country, something that has been questioned by a lot of observers. However, the state media has not been seen to have repeated the claim as before since the last few weeks, indicating that there may be a few cases that the country has or is not reporting.

The country sealed one of its border near South Korea over suspicion of a coronavirus case. However, it was not confirmed officially.

Kim himself was rumored to have contracted coronavirus during his brief disappearance in April this year. It was also rumored that he has slipped into a coma after a cardiac surgery done by a team of Chinese doctors. However, he was later seen near Pyongyang and all rumors concerning his ill-health were falsified.

Since the last few days, there were speculations again that Kim is unwell and his sister, Kim-yo Jong is ready to take the command of the nation.

The speculations were, once again, dashed after his appearance at the party meeting.
