Latin AMAs 2024: Karol G, Feid win big at first bilingual award show celebrating the best in Latin music

Colombian singer-songwriters Karol G and Feid were crowned the Queen and King of Latin music during the 2024 Latin American Music Awards (LAMAs).The artists, who are also a couple, led the top winners with six awards each, followed by Shakira and Young Miko, who received three each.

Surprisingly, only Feid, from the quartet of the most recognized artists, was present during the gala broadcast by TelevisaUnivision from Las Vegas' Grand Garden MGM Arena. He presented his new LP with Yandel, and performed on stage their new collaboration, "Brickell."

The Latin AMAs for Mexican music were evenly distributed between Peso Pluma, Carin León, Eslabón Armado, Fuerza Regida, and Grupo Frontera, the top numbers of the genre right now.

Peso Pluma and Feid had led the nominations with 12 nods each, followed by Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera with 11 each, Shakira and Karol G with nine each, and Eslabón Armado and Fuerza Regida with eight. The biggest surprise was the lack of awards for Bad Bunny. For the last four years, the Puerto Rican artist has dominated all the Latin music awards, something that started to shift this February, during the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro.

As with American Music Awards (AMAs,) the Latin AMAs are determined by a poll of the public and music buyers.
