It seems that Adam Levine was then pleased with the results of the votes for “The Voice” last night. Acting as a singing coach in the singing competition show, his annoyance was clearly noted. 2 out of the 3 singers that remained in the competition for “Team Adam” were booted off following America’s votes last night.

While most fans understand that Levine’s frustration was most likely due to the fact that the show’s American audience did not vote for his singers, Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons, his comment was less about “The Voice and about the country as whole.

The Maroon 5 singer muttered, "I hate this country," which was picked up on his mic and clearly heard by the at-home viewers.

Regardless of his meaning behind the rather unpatriotic comment, the Twitter world ignited into an angry tirade against Levine.

Some fans speculated the reason for his comment was due to country singer, Amber Carrington being “saved by America,” leaving viewers to assume that Levine dislikes country music.

Following fans reactions, Levine took to twitter to dismiss the negativity following his “I hate this country” comment. The singer provided a series of dictionary definitions, defining “joke,” “humor-less,” “lighthearted,” and “misunderstand.” And while we appreciate Levine’s attempt to clear up an apparent misunderstanding, we are guessing the only misunderstanding is whether Levine’s mic is on or off.
