Maddie Higgins got to play in the snow for the first time on Friday outside her Texas home. The six-year-old girl has a rare form of brain cancer. Despite the fact the little girl lives in the hot climate of Arlington, Texas Maddie's dream was to play in the snow. A nonprofit group that works with terminally ill children helped her dream come true.

The organization Kinsley's Cure enlisted the help of Emergency Ice a Dallas company that specializes in all things ice. The company converted the little girl's front yard into a winter wonderland of artificial snow.

Maddie's parents blindfolded the little girl as they led the curious child to her snowy surprise. As soon as her blindfold was removed Maddie exclaimed, "It's impossible! It's summer." She then ran over and began building a snowman.

Maddie Higgins suffers from glioblastoma a brain cancer that is common in adults and rare in children. Currently there are no treatments specifically for children because the number of children afflicted with this cancer is low.

Maddie has been through the ringer due to her disease and so has her family. At six years old the child has already undergone two surgeries and countless radiation treatments. On Monday, Maddie has to be seen by a doctor in order to check for another tumor. The Higgins family and Kinsley's Cure are both trying their best to make sure Maddie is able to get everything on her wish list completed.

"We wanted to give her every experience she can possibly have," Melanie Higgins, Maddie's mother said to the Star-Telegram. "We are just making her happy."

Other items on Maddie's wish list include dinner at Reunion Tower, a visit to a Dallas Museum, seeing singer Kelly Clarkson (which she will in September) and visiting Japan.
