A man reportedly shot and killed his female friend after she defeated him in a pick-up basketball game in South Dallas, Texas on Monday, Oct. 3.

Asia Womack, 31, reportedly played a pick-up basketball game against her friend 31-year-old Cameron Hogg at the TG Terry Park in South Dallas on Monday, Oct. 3, and defeated him. Hogg, a known athlete who had previously played on Womack's James Madison High School basketball team, acted out of anger over losing the game and engaged in trash talk with the victim, New York Post reported.

Following the game, Hogg took his kids and brother home. After taking them home, Hogg came back to the park, pulled out a gun, and shot Womack five times. Womack was later found lying on a South Dallas sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and bleeding profusely. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, Womack succumbed to her injuries and died.

Andrea Womack, Womack’s mother, revealed that her daughter lived and breathed basketball. Andrea added that the fact that her daughter was friends with her murderer is especially sickening, the Independent reported.

"This was supposed to be a friend of Asia's. She's eaten with the man," Andrea said. "She's fed him, and he turned on her and killed her in a vicious way."

Meanwhile, Pastor John Delley called the shooting “so senseless.”

“You become embarrassed basically because a female beat you in basketball,” Delley added.

Womack's aunt Juanita Smith said, "I believe in forgiveness, but justice needs to be served."

Following the incident, the police officers launched an investigation into the incident and issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Hogg.

"Detectives are still working the case," Kristin Lowman of Dallas police, said. "No one is in custody at this time. They've been working it since Monday night, trying to find justice for Miss Womack."

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to Hogg's arrest. Witnesses can call 214-373-TIPS (8477), 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to inform details regarding the whereabouts of the suspect.

“If you know where he is, where his whereabouts are, please turn him in,” Andrea added. “Help the family out. We’re hurting.”
