Meghan Markle celebrated her 38th birthday on August 4, garnering her an overwhelming number of greetings, not just from her friends in Hollywood and fans around the world, but also from her royal family. Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton’s birthday greetings, however, are being accused of being unthought of, enraging Markle’s fans.

On Markle’s birthday, her sister-in-law, Middleton and brother-in-law, Prince William jointly wished her a happy birthday on their Instagram page, kensingtonroyal. Instead of taking this is a sign that there is no rift between them, the photo they used in the greeting post did the opposite. The sweet shoutout accompanying the photo read, “Wishing a very happy birthday to the duchess of Success Today.”

However, something with the photo in the post brought confusion to people. Instead of posting a picture of Markle, alone and right in the center, the picture showed the members of the royal family attending an event, including Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Markle herself, and Prince Philip. Notably missing from the picture is Queen Elizabeth but that is not why fans were not pleased.

Instead, what irked them was that the in the photo, Markle did not even stand out. It would have been ideal if the photo posted was of Markle alone, but if that could not have been possible, it would significantly better if the photo that was chosen would be Markle in red, instead of Middleton is in the color that made her stand out, as if it was her birthday and she’s the one being greeted.

According to the Cosmopolitan magazine, fans said it would be better if a picture of Markle herself alone is chosen because the event was not an event for the whole family. “All these royal photographers couldn’t find a pic of Meghan in the center?! In a brighter color?" One fan said.

Because of this mistake, people could be wondering whether Markle and Middleton are back in a feud.
