Two French men decided to inject each other’s penis with hemorrhoid cream in an effort to increase the girth. They ended up having to go to a hospital as the pain kept steadily increasing over time. Doctors who treated the men warned against injecting any foreign substance into the genital area by untrained individuals. Such incidents seem to be increasing due to fake tutorials easily available online.

Getting drunk and injecting cream into a friend’s penis may not be the regular night-in for most people. However, two friends aged 30 and 32 decided that they could help each other become well-endowed in the comfort of their home. In their Do-it-yourself penis enlargement project, the men filled syringes with whole tubes, over an ounce, of anti-hematoma cream which is often used to treat piles. Then they injected the substance into their penis. All of it was done under the guidance of a YouTube video that claimed to offer them the easy way to have bigger penises.

While the plan seemed to be working initially, as time passed the duo’s condition worsened. Overnight the pain in their genitals kept increasing. They eventually ended up going to the Strasbourg University Hospital, The Daily Mail reported. Doctors there observed that the lymph nodes had been blocked by the cream leading to the swelling.

Along with images, the doctors detailed the case in the medical journal Annales de Dermatologie et de Vénéréologie. They wrote that the men exhibited pain at the slightest touch and they were suffering acute penile edema. They observed that they did not have any ulcers, fevers, lesions or scrotal swelling. Prescribing rest and painkillers the medics asked the men to return for a follow-up. The men reportedly did not return, so their condition remains unknown.

Doctors noted that injecting substances into genitals is not a new phenomenon. Over the years people have followed trends of injecting substances ranging from petroleum jelly to cod liver oil. While some men do it to increase the size of their genitals, others may be doing it for sexual remedies or gratification.

While these men may not have suffered serious consequences, the doctors noted that injecting foreign substances can be dangerous. It can lead to erectile dysfunction. Men can end up permanently damaging their genitals. Left untreated it could get gangrene. Genital modification for both men and women has its own risks. Any genital modification should be performed by trained medical professionals.
