Australia local police are left baffled trying to figure out the circumstances that led to the death of a 42-year-old mother and her three young children. It was an unexpected and tragic development with the family branded as loving and kindest in the community.

The mother was identified as Katie Perinovic, 42 and is reportedly a physiotherapist. She took the day off to spend time with her three-year-old son, Matthew. Her two daughters, aged 7 and 5, also died in what police described as suspicious circumstances, reported.

Local authorities responded to the scene after receiving a call from husband and father Tomislav Perinovic. The 48-year-old was at the scene with medics when the police arrived at around 12:20 p.m.

"We know that it involves a husband, a wife and three children," Acting Deputy Commissioner Robert Hill said to reporters. "The husband has survived, the wife and three children are now deceased. Investigators do not believe there are other parties involved at this stage."

As of this writing, police are not seeking any other party other than one male who is assisting them in the case. However, the police chief reiterated that conclusions should not be drawn on the said male.

Authorities would not confirm how the mother and the children died. But as far as the father and husband are concerned, police report that he was uninjured and the one that called emergency services.

The incident has left neighbors distraught, some even sharing how the Perinovic kids were lovable and close to other kids in the community. Police added that the family has no history of domestic violence.

"I'm devastated, it's so close to home ... these are people who've spent time in my home ... my kids love their kids," Marie Groves, a neighbor, said.

The incident remains a shock and something that will taint the community. Acting Assistant Commissioner Mark Galliott adds that officers looking into the case will be aided with a wealth of support to figure out the reason behind the traumatic circumstances.
