The New England Patriots need to turn things around and a way to do that is to consider some trades. Stephen Gilmore and Joe Thurney are two names linked to NFL trade talk though nothing has gone beyond that for now.

The Pats need to come up with something big this weekend when they face the Buffalo Bills. They have dropped their last three games, placing them in a precarious situation. A win could help stop the bleeding with New England trying to find ways to get back at .500.

The Patriots fell below .500 when they lost to the Denver Broncos 18-12. That resulted in them being 2-3, making it the first time since 2002 that New England went below the .500 mark, USA Today reported.

Aware that they need to do something, the Pats are reportedly making anyone available via trade. Gilmore has been linked to a possible trade to Las Vegas where the Pats would acquire the Raiders 2021 first-round draft pick and 2022 fourth-round pick.

A Gilmore trade was further backed up by Albert Breer of The MMQB. According to him, the Pats have held talks with defensive back before April and then once more during training camp. He ended up with a restructured contract although interest in him is expected to rise.

From the players on the Pats roster, Gilmore is the one that could fetch the biggest return. This is even though he has an additional season remaining on his five-year $65 million deal plus a $17 million cap hit in 2021. He is also the league’s top cover men and is a three-time Pro Bowler.

Attention will be on Thurney who could be moving by the Nov. 3 trade deadline, CBS Sports reported. He is playing under the franchise tag so a change of teams could be happening if the Pats see a good offer on the table.

These are just some of the scenarios New England has to face moving forward. But the first order of business is for them to pull off a win against the Bills. Another loss would be disastrous, further fueling personnel changes happening possibly as early as next week.
