The second gala of Nuestra Belleza Latina sure gave something to talk. The show began with Juanes, who lightened up the night with his new single “La Luz,” which he performed while the 12 beauties walked down the catwalk in very provocative, tribal-inspired outfits. But not everything was like a fairytale. Host Chiquinquirá Delgado let the girls know as soon as the show began that the rules had changed.

Turns out that the girl who got the least votes throughout the week put in jeopardy her whole team, and that girl was in team Denise, compromising the other members. It didn’t help that team Denise won the first challenge, a very hard boot camp led by Osmel Sousa, because in the end, three of the ladies from the team were put in jeopardy and one was sent home.

The second challenge of the night was called “Bello Caos,” and consisted of one team reporting breaking news, and the other team reenacting them. For this, the show invited very important professionals in the journalistic field such as Pamela Silva-Conde, a co-host on “Primer Impacto,” and Univision’s special news correspondent María Antonieta Collins. Actor Diego Olivera joined them.

Mexican contestant María Elena got the most laughs, as she was trying to “interview” a man who caught on fire. Although her segment was hilarious, Osmel brought her down to reality in an ironic way saying that she was going to be a pioneer. “The poor man catching fire and this woman is asking him if he wanted to say hi to someone,” he commented.

Meanwhile, Jencarlos Canela told Nabila and Aleyda that he thought they were the favorites and had a chance to win. That’s why, he added, he expects a lot more from them.

Alexis y Fido joined the show to bring on the heat, while performing their song “Alócate.” The girls took their special appearance to walk down the catwalk once more, but this time flaunting their hot bodies in Formula 1 inspired bikinis. Also taking the stage was Fidel Rueda, who sang to the girls right before elimination time.

Carolina Verdura from Mexico was the first one to be eliminated. She was the girl with the least amount of votes from the audience. Maria Delgado was also in jeopardy thanks to the judges’ scores, but Osmel saved her. And Josephine Ochoa was chosen by team Alicia and had to face the judges during elimination.

Gabriela Alvarez was chosen to sleep in the “Queen’s Bedroom” and was more than happy to have phone privileges. However, she went back to sharing the room with the other girls because she said she heard “strange” noises and felt really scared.

Next Sunday the competition gets harder and tensions grow as team Alicia nominated Josephine from team Denise to be eliminated this week, but she made it. Also, the girls will face a very complicated and “wild” catwalk and Gloria Trevi, Yandel and Pablo Alborán will be the guest celebrities.
