It's a brand new year and award season is hear kicking off with the People's Choice Awards 2015. Fans of pop culture honor their winners across categories in movies, music and television. The event this year will be hosted by "Mom" stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney. Joining the duo presenting awards are breakout star Gina Rodriguez from "Jane The Virgin." Other confirmed celebrities set to take the stage are Ellen DeGeneres, Patricia Arquette, Matt Bomer, Viola Davis, Portia De Rossi, the cast of "Grey's Anatomy," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Entourage." Acts set to perform are Lady Antebellum, Iggy Azalea and Fall Out Boy. The show will air live on the East Coast from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles starting at 9pm on CBS.

Latinos are taking over entertainment and our presence is becoming more widespread year after year. In the Movies categories we are rooting for our Zoe Saldana who is nominated for Favorite Action Movie Actress. The film she starred in "Guardians Of The Galaxy" is also up for Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie, which we are also rooting for a win. Cameron Diaz is nominated in the Favorite Comedic Movie Actress as her movie "The Other Woman" as Favorite Comedic Movie. In the Favorite Family Movie category, "Rio 2," scored a nod. The children's fave takes place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and employed multiple Latino stars like Bruno Mars, George Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro and Andy Garcia.

In the television categories "Modern Family" is up for a nomination. One of the stars of the show, Sofía Vergara, also scored a nod as Favorite Comedic TV Actress. "Once Upon A Time" is nominated in the Favorite Network Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show category, as you may know "The Evil Queen" of the show is portrayed sensationally by Latina actress Lana Parrilla. As Favorite Dramedy "Orange Is The New Black" is up for the award and employs several Latinas like Dascha Polanco, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Selenis Leyva and Diana Guerrero. For Favorite New TV Drama we are rooting for "How To Get Away With Murder" as it included Karla Souza in one of the lead characters.

For Favorite New TV Comedy we are split between two shows and will be incredibly happy if any of these took home the award. "Cristela" and "Jane The Virgin" are both up for the accolade and both have a predominantly Latino cast. "Cristela" is the ABC sitcom created by Cristela Alonzo and also features María Canals Barrera, Carlos Ponce and Gabriel Iglesias. As for "Jane The Virgin," the show is an adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela and stars Gina Rodriguez, Andrea Navedo and Jaime Camil in leading roles. In the Music categories we are going with Fifth Harmony for the win in the Favorite Breakout Artist category. The girl-group formed during the second season of "The X-Factor" and three out of the five members are Latinas: Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke. Finally, Jennifer Lopez is nominated in the Favorite Pop Artist category and of course we want her to win as well.
