Sean Patterson, a personal trainer from Shepherd's Bush, west London, who was on a holiday was found dead in a "pool of blood" with gunshot wounds at a villa in Jamaica. The victim was shot 12 times in what police said was an ordered hit, said reports.

The Times of London reported that Sean Patterson, 33, was attacked by a hooded shooter when he was relaxing by the pool at the One Love Guest House in Montego Bay.

Deputy Police Commissioner Fitz Bailey stated, "We assume it is a contract killing emanating from Britain," and added that the victim had an "extensive criminal record" for serious charges in the UK, including drug and gun possession.

According to the authorities, Patterson arrived in Jamaica on Dec. 29 and is not thought to have traveled there in conjunction with any illegal activities.

Bailey said a hitman was hired to kill him at the resort city.

Bailey stated, "This seems to be a part of what I consider a transnational organized crime group."

Local media reports state that a 34-year-old male has been arrested.

According to the news source, Patterson booked a five-night stay at the hotel with his friend Shane Cameron, a 30-year-old construction worker from London, when he traveled to Jamaica.

The following day, the guys reportedly attended a concert where they met with Oshane Richards, 34, who had been deported to Jamaica in 2013 from the UK due to drug charges.

It was not immediately clear if Richards was the suspected shooter.

Patterson was shot in the head and chest a day after the concert as he and Richard were relaxing by the pool at the hotel in Bogue Hill, St. James. According to the Times of London, he was taken to Cornwall Regional Hospital in critical condition and later declared dead.

“I’ve lost my baby. No mother should have to bury her child,” his mother, Lesley Wright, 63, told the Daily Mail, adding her son had gone to Jamaica to meet his father’s family for the first time.

Alan Patterson, Patterson's father, told ITV News London that he was still trying to "process" the news of the murder.

According to the UK's LBC, Patterson leaves behind a fiancee with whom he had been for 13 years.
