Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once criticized for being too private when it comes to Baby Archie. But now that the royal couple is allowing the young child to be photographed, some fans still doubt their intention.

Many people were shocked when Harry and Meghan decided to hold Archie’s baptism in private because that’s just isn’t done in the royal family. “But when sources confirmed at the weekend that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were to keep their son’s baptism private, the balance tipped firmly in their disfavor,” royal commentator Celia Walden told Express.

Many felt that the public deserves to at least witness Baby Archie’s important moments. After all, the British taxpayers are footing the bill of Frogmore Cottage’s refurbishment.

“The bill to the taxpayer there is expected to reach £3million once work is completed,” Walden said. “Then there is the coy yet calculated refusal to show more than a few square inches of baby Archie’s face or foot since his birth.”

Perhaps noting the public’s displeasure at keeping things about Baby Archie too private, Harry and Meghan are now more relaxed when it comes to media attention on their child. For instance, Archie was very visible during their Africa tour, and many even commented that the adorable kid stole the show.

For instance, Baby Archie was on his best behavior when he met Archbishop Desmond Tutu, according to The Sun. The young boy even gave the archbishop a high five, while the latter’s daughter commented that he’s bound to become a ladies’ man someday.

However, some are not too convinced about Meghan and Harry’s sudden change of heart. In fact, someone posted the question “Now that Harry & Meghan have finally allowed Archie to be photographed, is this Meghan's way of getting more attention now?” on the site Quora, which yielded a diverse range of responses.

Of course there are those who believe that it’s all just for publicity’s sake. “They are using Archie to save face,” Agueda Sanchez wrote on Quora. “Their PR team is on full work mode, lol. It must really hurt her not to make millions with Archie’s exclusive.”

Others, however, were no longer amused at the constant criticism directed at Meghan. “And no, Meghan is NOT fishing for attention or using Archie to garner attention,” Cory Raisa wrote on the Q&A site.

“It would be nice if the silly drama mongers stopped misreading sinister motives into everything Harry and Meghan do or don’t do and found good books to read,” she added.

Some also feel that it’s as if the Sussexes are trapped and would be criticized no matter what they do. “If they don't bring him along, they are criticized. If they do bring him along, they are criticized,” Lorrie Reynolds wrote.

“If Harry holds him, then Meghan doesn't care about her son. If Meghan holds him, she is only doing so to get attention. The criticism is out of control,” she added.
