In the past two years, Prince Harry and Meghan have earned £12 million (nearly $15 million) by just staying at their home in the U.S.

The couple had bought the luxury 18,671 square feet Montecito mansion for £11.93 million ($14.6 million) in June 2020. Now it has more than doubled in value in just 23 months, reported The Sun.

The mansion in oceanside Montecito, which has nine bedrooms and 19 bathrooms, is currently valued at £23,960,720 ($29,350,320) million by property website Redfin. It means that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would make £12 million (nearly $15 million) if they sold today. The value of the couple's home has been put at £21.6 million ($26,485,500) by rival website Zillow, but claim it could fetch as high as £30 million ($36.81 million).

A luxury estate agent said that property prices have soared in the "past 18 months, and show no sign of stopping." The agent added that Harry and his wife only had to "sit back and watch their home’s value sky-rocket."

The hike in their home’s value, which is soaring way above the average increase in California’s super-heated housing market, could be contributing to rumors that Harry and Meghan are considering selling it.

Meanwhile, The News reported that the couple will not be appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside Queen Elizabeth in June, and an expert believes that they were "forced" to accept the downgrade in public view.

The two are scheduled to visit the UK with their children, Archie and Lilibet, next month for the Queen’s Jubilee celebration. But they will not be allowed to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other Royal Family members. Royal expert Daniela Elser said that this is Harry and Meghan being "forced to accept a downgrade while the world watches on.” Elser added that she was "astounded" by the fact that Harry and Meghan were “willing to sign on as supporting guest stars."

Royal expert and a Sussex-supporter, Omid Scobie, previously claimed that the couple had never wanted to appear on the royal balcony. Scobie said that he was told by a source that the Duke of Sussex had actually expressed some time ago that he and Meghan were "very keen" to be a part of the Jubilee engagements. They were reportedly interested in the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, but "less so for the formal balcony moment.”
