Aside from their palatial residences, one of the very visible reminders of royalty’s luxurious lifestyle is their jewelry collections. For female royals such as Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, fans are always on the lookout for the tiaras, necklaces and the rings they wear.

For instance, fans have been interested in the Duchess of Cambridge for the rings she wears. She has been observed wearing not only one but three rings, all of which were given by her husband, Prince William.

Iconic Diamond And Sapphire Ring

When they got engaged, William gave Kate a blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring. This is not an ordinary ring as it has a very deep meaning to the Duke of Cambridge.

It was actually the same engagement ring that his father, Prince Charles, gave to his mother, Princess Diana. The ring features a 12-carat blue oval-shaped Ceylon sapphire that is surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds. The gems are set on an 18K white gold.

However, the ring was too big for Kate and had to be resized. This was done by placing small platinum beads on the inner part of its ring band, a task that was undertaken by Crown Jeweller, G. Collins, and Sons.

But back in Diana’s days, she faced criticisms for choosing a pret-a-porter ring instead of a custom-made one. In fact, there was a time when the press dubbed it as a “commoner’s ring.”

But people are singing a different tune these days. Given its history and its association with the late Diana, it is now the most-coveted sapphire ring style in the world and has been copied by millions worldwide.

Welsh Gold Wedding Ring

Aside from Diana’s engagement ring, William also gifted Kate another ring for their wedding. The wedding ring is made from Welsh gold, following the royal family tradition. It even has a similar design to the rings worn by Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother.

Eternity Ring

William also gifted Kate with an eternity ring following the birth of Prince George, according to Hello. It features 0.23 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds set in a band made by London-based Annoushka made out of gold mined from Clogau St David’s in North Wales.
