A royal source has debunked claims that Queen Elizabeth will make Prince Charles "Prince Regent" when she turns 95. Rumor has it that the Queen has already started handing over her power to the Prince of Wales as she plans to abdicate the throne in two years.

According to the royal insider, reports that Queen Elizabeth is making Prince Charles a Prince Regent in two years sounds like a plot line from “The Crown,” a historical drama web television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Contrary to reports, Queen Elizabeth apparently has no plan of stepping down.

When reports about Queen Elizabeth appointing Prince Charles as Prince Regent first surfaced months ago, Buckingham Palace released a statement stating that Queen Elizabeth would remain the Queen of England until her last breath. On her 21st birthday, she promised England she would be their Queen for life. While that’s a big promise, she has kept to it for 66 years and counting now.

Speculations are rife that the re-emergence of rumors about Queen’s abdication recently comes as a result of the recent controversy involving Prince Andrew. It can be recalled that the Duke of York stepped back from his royal duties two weeks ago following his disastrous BBC interview, in which he tried to address his alleged involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes.

According to the royal insider, the British monarchy is still as strong and as stable as ever despite the controversy and it’s not enough to make Queen Elizabeth contemplate abdication. “There seems to be an interference that because of what has happened with Prince Andrew, a huge amount of change is about to happen. It’s not,” said the royal insider.

It has long been speculated that Queen Elizabeth will step down when she turns 95, but the Palace has repeatedly denied these claims. Currently, Queen Elizabeth is hailed as the longest-reigning British monarch of all time and abdication is something that she has never even contemplated. In fact, in 2022, England is set to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee to mark her 70th year on the throne.
