Rafael Amaya has broken his silence in an exclusive interview on "Al Rojo Vivo" with María Celeste. In the piece the "El Señor De Los Cielos" clarifies the truth behind the rumors of his near-death experience after an alleged drug overdose. "Yes, I was in the hospital for two days," he said. "I had a nervous breakdown due to fatigue and stress. I was about 10 months or almost 11 months working consecutively with no vacation. Like any other human being, I started to get sick. I started missing work and Telemundo and I decided that we needed a break and take life back to recharge energy. Go with family and forget Aurelio casillas por a little bit and return as new."

Reports said that he went into coma, but the actor firmly denies this. "No. There's has been a lot of things said," he added. "I was surprised all of this time because there has been many things said. All of my family has been affected with everything that's been said. I have been in contact with them, with my friends, with my co-workers and no. I was only there two days and if I had been in coma, they normally keep you for two or three weeks, up to a month. But no. I remember when I was admitted [to the hospital], when I left and I remember absolutely everything. I was not in coma."

María Celeste dug deep and asked Amaya directly if drugs were involved with his health decaying. "No, no, no," Rafael answered. "There was a lot of fatigue, a lot of stress. I had a lot of personal problems in my life. It was like a chain reaction and my body couldn't take it anymore and I had to go to the hospital." He also added, "I don't drink, I don't take any type of drug, nor anything. I am very happy with what is happening in my life, with 'El Señor de los Cielos,' with my life, with my family, with my friends and I simply took some time to find myself, to return to my origins." Amaya also denied getting checked in to a rehab center for drugs. "No," he answered again. "I see spiritual rehabilitation, emotionally. Return my mind as I was before 'El Señor de los Cielos.' Right now I feel completely renewed, I feel the same energy that I had when I started 'El Señor de los Cielos,' because I really needed to rest."
