Republican Senator John Kennedy froze in the middle of a live interview with Fox Business, prompting host Larry Kudlow to end it abruptly, claiming there were some "technical issues."
"I'm sure Jesus loves him but everybody else thinks... everybody else..." Kennedy said before freezing. He continued to be on camera for a few seconds before the image was cut.
Well this is jarring. John Kennedy (R-LA) is midway through a quip he's delivered a thousand times ("Jesus loves him but everyone else thinks he's an idiot") and completely freezes up mid-sentence. pic.twitter.com/74t3yRbUsh

"I guess we have some more technical problems. That's the same mic we lost with Senator Rand Paul. Sorry to hear that because everybody respects what Senator John Kennedy has to say," Kudlow added.
Neither Kennedy nor his office addressed the episode. The senator's X account posted about other issues, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic committees banning transgender women athletes from women's sports.
The scene reminded many of one involving former GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, who froze twice in the span of a month while speaking to reporters in 2023.
Back then, he paused for more than 30 seconds when asked if he would run for re-election in 2026. After that, he answered two more questions, which had to be repeated by staff. "Leader McConnell felt momentarily lightheaded and paused during his press conference today," a spokesperson said after the incident. He has since stepped down from his post as party leader and won't seek reelection in next year's midterm elections.
