MacBook Air
Apple set to release the MacBook Air with Retina Display this fall.

It appears Apple is preparing to release new MacBook models later in 2014 including a MacBook Air with Retina Display. DigitTimes reports a Taiwan-based supply chain are expecting MacBook shipments in 2014 to fall to 10 million units, others are projecting higher numbers and believe Apple will refresh its MacBook air lineup with a Retina Display.

Early last week a forum post on weiphone.com claimed the MacBook Air would be updated soon, with new MacBook Pros to be released this fall, September. The most notable aspect about the post claimed Apple is also prepared to release a slim 12-inch MacBook, which will come without a fan assembly and feature a redesigned trackpad.

MacRumors reports that this possible MacBook Air mentioned in the post and slim 12-inch MacBook mentioned in the forum could be the one in the same. Which falls in line with a report from NPD DisplaySearch last year claiming that Apple is planning to introduce a 12-inch MacBook Air in 2014. The NPD DisplaySearch report mentions the new MacBook Air will come with a ultra-high resolution 2304 x 1440 display.

While Apple has yet to reveal an official release date it is said that the MacBook Air with Retina Display will be releasing September alongside the iPhone 6.
